Could that be done?
Maybe not recording the cam directly, but recording the desktop part where is it shown on wlmsn in avi or some other format....

It's not very interesting to do this with a script, but there are programs which can record the video stream, yes. I can't give you a specific example, but I'm sure other members can help you.
