O.P. Wink  If windows live messenger connects via IE...
I heard that windows live messenger connect to the Internet via Internet explorer, yeah? Well if i was to remove internet explorer will it still work?

If yes, is there a way i can make windows live messenger bypass Internet explorer and connect to the Internet some other way.

Thanks in advance...

AFAIK, IE is a core program in Windows, meaning you can't remove it.
If you use IE7, I do know that it's listed in Add/Remove in the Control Panel, but removing IE7 will only reinstall IE6.

True, you can't completely remove IE (god knows why anyone would want to!), uninstalling IE7 will only put back on the inferior IE6

It's used for so many internal networking things......WLM gets its connection information from there, for example if a proxy is needed, etc

It saves the user needing hundreds of settings in various places when they can all just be put in IE and accessed from there
