O.P. Can Someone Please Help Me?
I just got this Live Messenger Plus, so I'm not quite sure how to do a few things.
Is there any way to make it, so that when someone sends me an instant message, a response goes back to them automatically? I could really use some help with this if it's possible.
Thanks for the help!

I don't think this is in Plus! by default, but Answer Machine Plus, a script, should be able to do what you want

Also, it doesn't seem like anyone answers any of the questions that are asked on that thread. How exactly does the 'Name', 'Receive', and 'Answer' spreadsheet thingy work?
Thanks

O.P. Can Someone Please Just Give Me a Straight Answer?!?
I've been trying to figure this thing out, and I'm having the hardest time. I think I'm going to start using YahooIM if this continues! Can someone PLEASE help me out? Most of the stuff I'm seeing in this forum are problems without solutions, or at least quick answers that make no sense.
All I want to do is make it so that when somebody sends me a message, they get an automatic response back, and I can't seem to figure it out. Someone told me to get the Answering Machine script, but that thing is just as confusing as reading other posts saying that Plus! has an auto-responder already built in, but I can't get that one to work either!
Can someone please tell me what I need to do so that anyone who sends me a message gets an automatic greeting?
Thank you.

What do you mean exactly, be more specific.
Do you want it to send a message back if its a certain word? Or any word?

Hello,
Yes, you can do it both ways, I will explain both to you.
With Messenger Plus! Live you can configure an AutoResponse (this is mostly used for when you are away from the computer)
Just say in a conversation something that follows
/online <auto response>
/busy <auto response>
/away <auto response>
/onphone <auto response>
/lunch <auto response>
etc etc.
I do not recomend this way because as it works, like I said it's supposed to be when you are Away from the computer. So you could be talking to your contact and randomly your auto message appears
You can configure that along with setting up Presets via Plus > Preferences > Conversations > Personalized Status
---
As for the other way (which I'd suggest is more suitable for what you want )
http://www.msgpluslive.net/scripts/view/119-Answering-Machine-Plus/
Inside here that is a script you use, import it and configure it.
It is simple, you input "hey" and you can auto reply "hello" or something
Hope this helps

The auto-responder is used if you use a custom away or busy status. plus will allow you to set this if you change your status to away, or select 'personalized status' from the status menu.
I cannot hear you. There is a banana in my ear.

O.P. RE: Can Someone Please Help Me?
Thanks, but I'm still very confused. If I go into 'personalized status', I get a box that's kind of like the one you have in your post. What is the 'Name Tag' box for, and the difference between "Personal Message' and 'Auto-responder'? And will 'Busy' instead of 'Away' work the same? Also, can't the auto message just go out to anyone who sends me a message, or do I need an 'activation' word for it to work?
In the Answering machine, I have pretty much the same questions. I just want to set it up for 1 immediate greeting to EVERYONE who IMs me, that's all. I'm not trying to make it real complicated.
Thanks for everyone's help so far

Name Tag: What appears in your Name on your contact list.
For example if my Name is SonicSam and my PSM is LOLMONKEYS
If I set the nametag to "Eating" it'll make my name
SonicSam (Eating)
Personal Message Changes your Personal Message. That should be quite clear.
Busy and Away work the same.
And No you don't need an activation word. It works on any word.
Note: I suggest you don't create multiple threads, keep it all in one thread please
