I have recently installed WLM as has my son, we can see each other, he can here me but I cannot hear him.  Is this a problem with my sound card.

Does your sound card work otherwise (as in, do you hear any other sounds)? If so, it's most likely not your sound card. It can also be a problem on his end. Does he have his microphone correctly set up?

Yes, video link request from him via WLM was notified to me by the sound of a ringing telephone
