I decided one day to try Windows live beta.. Oh boy was that one of the stupidest mistakes ever. I advise every one NOT to download it it's terrible.
I can't login at all I always get 8000ffff
and its a HUGE pain to try to get rid off.


So I uninstalled it.
WLM was working great before I tried WLMBeta  (don't fix what isn't broken ..)
Can't use system restore..no old enough points.


now since I want back to the latest Windows live messenger I  cannot remote connect or use sharing folders. I have tried uninstalling the programs an reinstalling. I have used safe mode and even hand check the registry and delete all windows live entries. I have checked the common files and local setting on my computer and deleted all the entries for WLM.
It always comes up with the error, "you need to update to the latest version. I have tried everything ..
Please help i have no idea what to try next..

a) WLM BETA is BETA for a reason... You may not like it, but it works fine for the majority of us, obviously with the expected or usual problems.

b) Have you tried un-installing and then manually deleting any left overs folders relating to your WLM installation and then re-installing?

Yes I treid that. I have gotten the left over files using, Perfect uninstaller and Revo uninstaller I also manually combed the drive to get rid of files.

Dont' get me wrong windows live beta looks REALLY good but I don't know why it wont work for me .=[

By any chance you used directly the WLM installer file to install it? I mean instead of use the Windows Live Installer.

If so that's the problem, you see, I got that error today when installing it directly from the .msi file of the WLM 9, the reason it didn't worked was because Live Contacts didn't got installed, when I removed it and used the Windows Live installer to install it that solved my problem.

Sharing Folders have been removed from the new beta, it now uses Windows Live SkyDrive as a file sharing mechanism.

This could (in part) be a cause of the problem you experienced

Yes I have tried that

And I uninstalled windows live beta and went back to the latest non beta. still wont work but now I can't install windows live beta or standard messenger with out the messenger returning an error saying that unable to install

it it not installing

I think you need a file called contacts.msi and I have that for ya.

I had the same problem when I tried to log on to msn beta 9
