Also, what is better, 32 bit, or 64 bit?

A 32 bit os can only address 3,12 GB of memory, so if you have more memory installed, it will be necessary, to use a 64 bit os.

BCDedit /set PAE forceenable

PAE is shit :p

RE: RE: New computer
It is going to take a long while before everything is 64bit.

If you ask me, 64bit is still kind of a "hype" (for the lack of a better word, so mind the quotes). 95% of all programs are still 32bit. You will still have troubles finding decent and correct 64bit drivers for many stuff. Some programs wont even work under 32bit simulation on 64bit machines, etc...

If you have the cash and if you're geeky, buy it by all means. Otherwise, just stick with 32bit for the time being. By the time 64bit has almost completely taken over you would probably already have bought a couple of new PCs anyways... (unless you plan to stick with your PC for like 10 years like me :p)...

Vintige FTW! lol

Is there not mother boards that are 32 and 64 compatible and you can switch between them?

I'm sure my dad has one and he can do that if he wanted.

RE: New computer
You don't switch, you either install a 32bit operating system or 64bit assuming your CPU supports it :p
