I use Windows Vista Home Premium and Live Messenger 8.5.1302.1018 and the handwriting feature has stopped working somehow (it used to work fine until about a week ago). The tab is still there, but when i pass to the tab my cursor is nowhere to be seen on the message box. No error message comes out. I installed Windows Live Journal 1.5 but that didn't help either. What can be causing my problem?

Reading here, it could be that the part where you actually draw is offset, so try maximising the window and make the handwriting pane as big as you can. Try drawing everywhere, see if it's located somewhere.

Make sure you've downloaded Windows Journal Viewer 1.5.

After installing them, you need to restart your computer.

nope, the fully maximized message box shows no cursor either. my cursor just disappears when i bring it over the message box (with handwriting tab selected).

I installed journal viewer and reastarted and it does not effect it. and the security update is for windows xp's. It does not work for my pc, which has vista.

Similar thread here but doesn't have a solution, sorry.

Is there a solution to this bothersome problem yet?

My microsoft windows journal viewer is installed and up to date. I am running with 32bit Windows Vista, up to date with all windows updates.

I can open the handwrite tab, but the 'ink' cursor does not show up whatsoever. I'm stuck with a normal mouse cursor that can't draw. Maximized screen does not work either.

If only MSN messenger had technical support...
