O.P. hiding web cam icon
Ihave downloaded the 2009 updated version ....I have gone to the options and chose the "Don't allow others to see that I have a web cam" ...but when I am chatting with others it is still showing that I have one ...is anyone having this same problem? Is there another area where I must go to have it hidden from others?

You'll still see the icon but others will not. :)

The only option is 'Allow others to see I have a webcam' at the bottom of the first page of options for Windows Live Messenger

Have you made sure that it is DESELECTED?
