I'm using an HP ScanJet 6300C scanner with my WinXP Pro SP3 PC. I bought it about 12 years ago. Has there been any adcancement in scanning technology? Is it worth upgrading it to a new one?

what sort of dpi does it scan @, it's probably fine, but it depends on the application

Not really. I've got an older and technically worse one and it still works flawlessly in nice 1200dpi.
Unless you want your scanned images to have a full-lenght movie size (in Mb)
