Hey everyone. 

I need free software advice.

I've recently purchased a new phone & now have the ability to load my own music & ring tons onto the memory.  There are quite a few great songs I want as ring tons, but I need a way to shorten the tracks. 

That way, when Patchou (example) calls, instead of the whole song playing from the start, I'll have my own 20 second audio clip of a section in that song.

Any suggestions?

PS, I have searched the Tech Talk forums & it yielded zero matching results.

Nah, that's not what I'm looking for.  Windows sound recorder is a tool that will allow you to record WAV-format files via microphone for use on the Web, in Powerpoint, in videos, etc. I need to take an already existing file & edit it, which I stated in my OP.
