O.P. "Click Here" link in IM window
I don't remember what script it was, but it has, in an instant message, a "Click here" link instead of a normal url link. Anyone know how they did that?

It isn't possible to hide a URL by link text. If it was this could be very dangerous!

What if both clients had the program?

Still not possible

Say the User A sends User B a link using the script (say we use BBCode for example)

quote:
User A: [url=http://google.com]Search for it[/url]

User B's script would receive the same text, extract the link text and display it, but it still couldn't link it to the url; the url could be printed, but that would be like a normal link

To what? It either has to be a link (the url param) or the link text (the actual message). One will just be the standard link, the other will just be text that cannot link anywhere. Do you get what I mean??

No, it's not; check what I posted again. It's a technical limitation, not something that is difficult or takes a while to figure out.

This isn't the one I saw, but it's similar.

It makes a "link." You can move your mouse over it and it turns into a hand. But when you click it, nothing happens.
