help with this requested. all of a sudden, not sure why, using windows 7, when messenger loads it does not sign in automatically. it used to log in when the program started, but now i have to log-in manually. the option to log-in automatically is checked in options. any help appreciated. thanks. 

If it's definitely ticked in options I can't see why it wouldn't. You could try unchecking it and signing in, then signing out and re-checking it.

If no good, it may be worth doing step #5 from CookieRevised's guide toa clean install, which will reset the registry settings.
