O.P. Hard Disk (C:) & (E:)
My hard disk (C: ) is about to be full. My other Local Disk (E: ) is empty. I want to transfer some stuff from the (C: ) to the (E: ), BUT i don't know what to and what to not move. I tried Moving
" Documents and Settings " since it takes most of the space, but a get an Error.

Error copying File or Folder

Cannot copy NUSTER: It is being used by another person or program.
close any program that might be using the file and try again.

The problem is, i dont even know what's this NUSTER thingy is to close any program that might be using it.

So i was wondering if anyone knows what's better to be transfered. And if anyone knows what's this NUSTER thingy is and tell me that would be great!

P.s : I use Win XP,and a P2P Program that seems to suck space every few mins.

Documents and Settings is a system folder you may not move at all. As well as the Windows folder and the Program Files. What you can do is create a virtual disk with both disks. The tool is somewhere in Administration tools in Programs > Accessories.

I'll edit back this post if I remember where it is. ;)

Well, set up the program so that it stores the files in E: and move the downloaded files there (no the folder, but the files only).

Anyway, with that tool I mention above you can virtually merge disks into one with XP.

I'm using the Spanish version of Windows, so the names I give you may not be really accurate. But let's try it anyway:

-Open Settings > Control Panel > Management tools > Computer Management > Disk Management

Once this is open you'll have a list with both hard disks and below a graphic representation of them.

- Right click on E:
- Change letter and access path to the unit
- Add...
- Mount in following NTFS empty folder
- Create a folder inside C: (for example C:\E)
- Select it
- Press OK.

From now on you'll be able to use that folder as a normal folder although you are actually using E:.

This is not the solution I told you (actually merging both disks as if they were one) But it approaches. I can't seem to find that tool... :-/ -hope it helped anyway.

From now on you should use C:\e to store everything you download and to install. For example: If you install Messenger Plus!, instead of leaving the default install location (C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus!) change it to C:\e\Messenger Plus! or even better: E:\Messenger Plus!. This way you'll avoid loading more the C: disk.

Hope this helps a bit. ;)

Infact it helped a lot :D. Guess i'll have to reduce the amount of stuff I've got on my desktop and such, to keep the C: with it's current Free space.

Again, thnx a lot!
