Where is the backup on the name changing?
If I want to make a reinstall I don't want to loose it!
have search the forum to the best of my knowledge with no success..

You can export your settings in Plus!\Preferences -> Save/Load. In the Import/Export window, select "Export my preferences to a data file", click Next and choose "Export contact specific information". The rest should be self-explanatory
