i'm doing my history project in flash...and i designed a gif for it in fireworks...now can anbdy explain me why the gif has white things arround it(image)

Porbably because you made the GIF with a white background, and GIFs don't support alpha transparency -- PNG might be a better choice.

no the background was transparent...now what i have to do 25 png(the gif has 25 frames)...can't i do a gif for the fla??

The transparant layer of a GIF is also a color, in your case white...

When Guido talked about the background he meant your transparant layer.

Exactly. The background is transparent (as the Flash animation shows), but the pixels around the letters which are not transparent but light shades of the letters' colors cause the problem you see.

The solution, yeah, do 25 PNGs, or create the animation in Flash instead of creating a GIF animation to import it into an animation program . Another solution would be to use dark gray or black as the transparent layer, the result will be better but not perfect.

25 pngs...i'll stick to one png LOL

Or, you can open up the GIF files in something like Photoshop, and start to erase those white things you see there (the border around the text which is not completely transparents)...But you will have a hard time doing it.

I did it before with a horse picture, and it was hell...

Or, make them into PNGs, just like what they said...Easier...
