O.P. Huh?  WEIRD WINDOWS POPPING UP. PLEASE HELP!
There's a window that randomly pops up at times when I'm on the internet... the title of the window is "Messenger Service" and it says something like my computer is infected and I will have a system shutdown. And to fix it I need to go to www.fix-pc.com... and there was another address at a different time www.UPGRADENOW.com. What is this and why am I getting it? It started doing it after I downloaded Messenger Plus yesterday.

This seems unrelated to Messenger Plus!. Take a look at http://www.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/docs/messagepopup/ and http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security...more/stopspam.mspx :)

Click on Start > Run > Type in services.msc and press enter

In here find Messenger Service and double click it.
Change the Startup Type to Disabled and also click the Stop button at the bottom. Click Apply.

This has nothing to do with Messenger Plus! but it is a part of windows that allows Messages to be sent from 1 pc to another.

it is disabled by default in sp2
