hey all, i actully got two problems with te new Messenger Plus! 3.50 which is rlly cool btw

my first one is that I can't seem to make messenger lock work.. i mean I set the button for it, but whenever i press on that button (F11) well nothing happens.. anyone has a clue why??

second one is actully a question : Is there a way to color the nicknames without putting personal names..??

Try changing the key combination to CTRL + F11; it works for me.

Also note the message at the bottom of the Messenger Lock

Note: Some key combinations for the shortcuts are not allowed by Windows and will be automatically removed.

Right click on someone's name (for the question part) and click on Messenger Plus! Extras...Click rename Contact; but don't rename the contact, by the Formatting Options there's a little checkbox---click it and change the color accordingly. After you click ok Plus will then inform you that The Custom Name Feature must be enabled in order for this to work and emoticons will not be displayed in all your contact names (See Screen Shot)

hey tx for ur help but  dont think its that.. I tried Ctrl + F11 and Alt+ F11 .. none is working.. anyone else has a clue?

Which version of Messenger are you using? This will help others out.

msn messenger, official msn 7 beta

I'm not sure, but it might be an issue with the offical beta as a new public beta was released today 7.0.0429 (It's been known to happen after a new release of Plus). So It might just be a compatability issue. Not too sure though....someone else Like Patchou may need to check it out.

aight well I cant dw the new msn beta right away, but thx for the colors thing! rlly appreciate it!

Try a different combination like ALT + CTRL + F11 or SHIFT + L. Could be just a simple conflict if you have other programs that use shortcuts such as F11. (If Applicable)

I think too that the Offical public Beta of MSN was mandatory, not sure though (somebody usually corrects me if I'm wrong) , it usually pops up when you sign in. To Determine which version of Messenger you have (and see if you have the latest updated Public Beta) click on Help and About MSN Messenger 7.0 BETA. It's simple if it ends in .425 you have the old beta, and if it's .429 well you know the rest....
