O.P. S-Video to RF
Hi,

I recently baught a Geforce FX 5500. It rocks because of the second monitor thing at the back. Thing is i have a TV beside my PC but its old and only has RF IN. yet the TV out on the video card is S-Video and the cord that came with the video card was both ways S-Video. My question is where can i get a S-Video to RF converter for cheap. I know i can get a S-Video to RF modulator but its 30$ and i dont want to spen 30$. So does anyone know where I can buy one for cheap(preferably less than 10$).

Thanks,
SonicSam

I'm pretty sure you will not find a RF converter for lower than $30 (I never saw any). Anyway, if I were you, I'd buy another tv.. if you don't even have an RCA input on your tv, I'm sure it'S currently begging you to be putto death :p.

RE: S-Video to RF
There is no straight-through conversion from s-video to rf. In the converter the s-video signal is decoded to a (virtual) image, that image is encoded to pal/ntsc format, and the resulting image is given to a mini-tv station for "transmitting".

All that means you are unlikely to find a converter for under $10 at normal price.

Remember that on an older TV (older is a few years), the quality won't be that great, especially after the conversion. The resolution is low also. It should be okay for keeping all those always-on-top display windows on though.
