I have a request for a plug in. i think it may be simple.

The fast user switch function on windows xp, it gets used in my house a lot. is there a was to make it so when i leave msn on and some one switches users, then the plug in kicks in an scilences msn so it makes no noises while the other user is active, but stil recives messages from contacts on my profile. Do people get what i mean?

Just disable sounds period. They're really annoying. The taskbar flashes and the toasts pop up anyways.

yeah thnks i kinda found a way around it any way. depends if u like some of the sounds... i like the nudge one and the e-mail and some ones online indicators.

but yeah i use boss protection before i switch user

Yeah i get the same when my sister leaves her account on and it annoys me, you could possibly set your status as busy before you leave which would block custom sounds and untick the send sound when user writes message or just use the boss protection, which is what i personally do.

Mopageboy, almost 2 years ago I made a post describing how to do a user switch from within MSN Messenger. It is not exactly what you ask for, but maybe this will interest you also, if not, just ignore it: "CookieRevised's reply to Automatic away/return message when quickswitching in Windows XP ?"

i think ill just try and set boss protection to windows + L so when i switch user it does boss protection as well
