i have a problem playing music on my computer.

i know my sound works because:
a) when people sign in in msn messenger i can hear the sound.


the music doesn't play in:
a) winamp
b) windows media player


and idea?

What sound card do you have?

If you have a Soundbalster Card, under Speaker settings untick the "digital Output only", might help. Happened to me once

Control Panel > Sounds

Check all your settings are okay there. And check playback devices etc

And check the device is working proplely ( i know you said it does work but just check if the device is working correctly. )

control panel > sounds and audio device > audio > sound playback device > then in default device drop down menu select the other name and chk the output if not work then rept this again for other devices ...

I've got this it gets very annoying restart your computer and thats it
