O.P. Undecided  Format USB Memory Key :S
ok.. so ye my friend had wte problem with his memory key.. its a sandisk cruzer mini 256 MB btw.. and like its not working so good anymore, still shows the drive in my computer when you plug it in, but no files appears in there, and you cannot transfer anything..

he gave it to me and told me to format it.. so I opened My Computer, right click on Format and waited.. nothing came up :S

And well.. I tried again and again, none happens.. his waranty is sadly over.. so he's searching for a solution to fix it, perhaps another way of formating the drive? maybe by DOS ? :S

Thx in advance

You can try it with prompt, go to start>Run and type cmd.

then at prompt type this: format X: /X
Where X: is the letter of the Drive.

The drive is F, so I typed:

format :F/F

And it gave me :

Invalid Parameter - /F

Here's a page I came across while I was waiting for IBM's free 32Mb memory key, which I don't think anyone actually got :'(

So I don't know if the method works, but check it out anyway and let us know if it does:

How do you Format a RAW USB Flash Drive under WinXP - TechSpot OpenBoards
