my friends computer is completely screwed.... it doesn't start up in any mode....

it is running windows 2000 and gets a blue screen with this writing:

i've tried a few different things ... nothing big, just changing the boot sequence.. it checked everything else before c:/... run some test fing, lol... erm check all the connection but no luck...

any ideas what i can do? hopefully the error codes will help...

HAHAHAHA I just had this in VMWare. He needs to boot off of his Windows 2000 CD and choose repair the installation (using a command prompt)

Then type HELP and hit Enter. I forget how to do the FixBoot but I will edit my post with more info when I get home and have my laptop... right now its in security as I am at work.

Well you could probably get away with using a Windows XP cd but I will take screenshots of what to do when I get home for ya.

thanks.. id still like to here matty's solution too... as hes had a problem like it

The problem I actually had today was resolved by my prof. Turned out a part of my boot.ini file was corrupted. Go Figure...

i think im jus gonna reinstall windows... lol... ill ATTEMPT the other solutions on the microsoft site for the sake of getting hte files back but if not... formatting sounds gd
