Hello there,
Today it was the lunching of the Bombs Sweeper Robot, a senior project of 2 students at the American University of Science & Technology - Beirut - Lebanon.
It was made by Mr. Rami Sourani & Mr. Wissam Yammout.
The goal from this robot is to go pickup a suspected bombs, or wondend persons from a dangerous places, and takes them back to the safe place.
The project started last year, where the 2 students were working days and night to achive their final goal. As i have entred AUST this semester i was able to catch up more info, and have a regular visits to their workshop.
Below a review that will explain lots of point about the machine:
The machine will be controled wirelessly using 2 Linksys wirless G access points, attached on 2 different portables one on the machine, and another as the controler.
A special designed software made by them using VB, i have no more details about the software, this will control the machine from controler protable, where also the user can also watch the movement of the arm of the robot and his front road, using 2 logitec camera emplented on the robot's front & arm, supplied with 2 lights for each.
The mainly used the PIC Microchip Technology to translate computer commands into physical movement.
