Then, DVD/CD drives dont use drivers, the only thing you can do with them is to install a different firmware, which can be found at the brand's website .

I'm not sure of this, but when i installed my DVD-RW drive myself, i didn't see any drivers. it's as simple as pluging in the IDE and the power cable..

sorry people. for some reason its not recognising dvd discs and is sayin that it is only a cd drive, but windows is saying that i need 2 install a driver

Well, does windows give any specific error ? Do you have more then one drive, are you sure you are using the right one ?
