Yesterday I downloaded the latest msn messenger update. After this was done I tried getting back into msn messenger but when i clicked on the icon nothing happened. I thought it might have something to do with having messenger plus so i decided to uninstall it. I tried doing this twice. The first time it said I couldn't uninstall messenger plus "at this time". The next time i tried it it just froze up. I need some major help.
Could it be that you don't have adminsitrators priviledges on your system and that it was originally installed in an administrator account? in that case, you need to login as administrator to uninstall it, there's no way around it.
Im not sure. Im pretty sure i downloaded on my current name but i could try getting on the administer name. I've tried everything I can think of.ok i just tried that and that didnt work. Messenger plus isnt even on the Add/Remove Programs list anymore. The icon for it is still on my desktop though. If I try to click that it tells me I need msn messenger (which is currently uninstalled). but if i try to download msn messenger it just says: "MSN messenger setup failed with error code: '1635'." There is nothing about this particular error on microsofts help page. I've tried all different combinations of uninstalling programs/reinstalling. I tried a system restore...nothin doin
dont double post. read the rules please. http://shoutbox.menthix.net/rules.html
have u tried deleting files manually? that can make the uninstaller get crapped.
*All posts are a purely speculative hypothesis based on abstract reasoning.
Not my daughter, you bitch!
Trying to remove Messenger Plus! manually is not a bad idea (as long as you did not install the sponsor with it). If deleting its files manually helped you, then all's fine
