O.P. Chat Logging to a network drive
I save my chat logs on a network drive so that they're accessible no matter which PC I'm using.

I also use Messenger on my notebook, however, which isn't always connected to the network. Currently I don't use chat logging on my notebook, even though I'd like to.

I was wondering what would happen if I turned it on and tried to use chat logging while not being connected to the network (i.e. the chat logging directory isn't available and can't be created).

In that case, the log files will simply not be created (you will not get any error messages)... :)

This is actually what I tried like 2.5 years ago...but I guess it hasn't changed :)

TBH, it shouldn't let an inaccessible network drive go by silently: at least pop up a single error saying the network drive is inaccessible, and disable logging again. That way, at least users are aware there's a problem.

Spammy edit: Yay! Tester tags are back!
