Have you had any problems with your computer in the past such as errors or bugs?

messenger of any version has extensive memory leaks couple that built in flaw with the extensive abilities of messenger plus and on a low speced pc your just heading for trouble, the higher the version number of your messenger client the greater the memory leaks you will get as the extra features in each version makes the memory leaks worse, well one would assume so anyways.

i would suggest buying some more ram and maybe upgrading your processor, also running a defrag might help in this case do it from safe mode and disable your paging file so the defrag is done more thoroughly that should atleast improve pc performance temporarily anyways, however the hardware upgrades seem to be the better option for a long term solution, i do however know that kind of thing can be expensive so ill understand if you choose to ignore that option.
