Not exactly sure what kind of Script would do that, but why don't you just select Appear Offline & Sign In? And see who is Online or Connected.

If a script did this, it would sort of be useless. Because to run scripts, messenger needs to be open, and you could just look at your contact list.

I was thinking about this a few days ago. If a program (not script or plugin) could be made to hook into the messenger stream and see when contacts go online/offline/change status without actually having messenger up that would be great.

It would use less resources than messenger, cause it would only show contact status. I'd love this .

But a script would seem useless to me... unless I am misunderstanding?
