Since i've installed Windows messenger its ran slow. It also makes other things such as firefox run slow and my entire system turns jerky and slow. When windows live has been on for around20 minutes these problems gradually dissapate, however for the first 20minutes its a majorheadache. I have 1gig of ram and a relativly fast PC. It says in the task manager under processes that windows live messenger is taking up 66,000k, which is surely toomuch and perhaps related?

Whats causing this awful inefficiency?

Have you cleaned your pc lately? If not i suggest you do add/spyware scans now aswell as defragging your HD.

That Windows Live Messenger takes loads of memory is known..it has to do with the contactlist, if you close that you will see the memory usage go down.
