i found the logon thing and removed it. but i still cannot find how to change the colours. like in windows xp i had the taskbar the olive theme,

the pic i attached is what i want to change the colour.

You can't but supposedly this application can.

You can't change the colour very much, only "tint" the colour of the gradient.

To change this tint, go to Control Panel, and under "Appearance and Customization", click "Customize Colors" (on the right hand side, in Classic View it is under Personalization > Window Color and Appearance).
There should be a range of different colors (and a hidden color mixer at the bottom if you want a different color).

i'm sorry  i dont mean to keep asking questions, but for some strange reason my recyle bin is no longer on my desktop, how do i get it back?

Well it's not exactly hard to find stuff like that in Vista because Vista's search owns. Just type keywords into the Search box in the upper right corner of the Control Panel. (in this case "desktop icons")
First result: "Show or hide common items on the desktop".
