seriously how many times has Messenger discovery changed GUI?

Both website and program?

It always seems to be changing, and never actually improving in stability, and I've given it a fair share try and opinion on every major release and every name change too

MDL won't show when window is closed, but when connection is closed.

well with the Messenger Protocol thats the only thing that you can get.

That's the only way to get anywhere near reliable, and it isn't perfect either.
AFAIK aMSN has a reliable built in feature also.

There is MD 2 public beta out ,it's different, alot different. Not many options added yet, but it is deffanetly worth a try, before you make statements like this
Anyway, it's kinda offtopc But well it has connection closed notifier in it ,as topic starter wanted, so ... not exactly useless post
