not possible in windows live meesenger, can only be done in older versions of messenger

Which really, If I remember correctly, even if you go back to MSN Messenger 7.0 or above, it has really be the same story as windows live messenger...it checks for dp sizes at both ends meaning that it will never work properly, which is why developers decide against such a feature.

Don't quote me on this, but I think that now it is also checked by the server itself which now holds on to active display pictures...
