O.P. Bypassing a "BLOCK".
I'm trying to block someone on my list, but this contact is a lot more IT-savvy than I am, and I really know peanuts about computers. I'm a bit paranoid here, so please bear with me. :$

I'm using Windows Live! Messenger version 8, with Plus! installed.

If I block someone on my list, is it for certain this wall is impenetrable, that there are no existing plugins or hacks for someone I've blocked to see me online or even detect that I have signed in to the network (even though perhaps I still appear offline on the contact's list)?

There are ways in which you can talk to contacts you block, but afaik, there is no way people can IM you if you blocked them.

Yeah meaning there is a way someone could tell if your online or offline, but can not contact  you.

He can ask a mutual contact or create a second email account and add you to see if you accept. If you have "All others" in the allow list like this....

He can use an online block checker.

Ah, but then I will know that he's attempting to see if I've blocked him.

Block checkers don't work anymore, if you select the option to only let people on your allow list see your online status.:)

That way that i mentioned forget it,  its a  program supposed to do something else, but by accedent it could also check if your blocked. the thing is what its supposed to do would get me banned on the forums, so im not going to bother with that risk. and dont pm me about it either
