sock has a new PC!

Unfortunately, I've been using MsgPlus 3 until now, which produces an import/export format incompatible with MsgPlus 4's. Is there any way to get my old quick texts back without doing the following?

1. Get and install Virtual PC.
2. Get and add a Windows XP image. In the image:
3. Get and install MsgPlus 3.
4. Sign into Windows Messenger and import the settings.
5. Get and install WL Messenger.
6. Get and install MsgPlus 4, which IIRC will offer to import the MsgPlus 3 stuff.
7. Export the settings and import in the host OS.

the two formats are indeed incompatible. Here is what I suggest you do: install Plus! 3 and import your old settings from Windows Messenger (version 4, the one that comes with XP). Then install Plus! Live, every setting that can be imported, such as quick texts, will be imported automatically at first sign-in. You can then uninstall Plus! 3 from the system.

Oh, I forgot to mention I'm on Vista now, and WL Messenger freezes my old PC for some reason. So I guess I'll have to install Virtual PC to do this.

Update: Okay, I've done all that crazy Virtual PC stuff, and now my precious quick texts are back! \o/ So you can stop worrying, everyone.

I'm sorry you had to install a VM to get your quick text backs. At least, I'm happy it worked alright .
