O.P. MSN Live messenger on LAN
Well, Ive recently moved to University and am living in uni accomodation, we have access to the internet via a LAN connection and it is possible to use MSN live, so im told yet i cant get my head around it. 99% of the people using XP here can access MSN live without problem after inputting a few simple proxy settings but im using Vista. I and a few others on Vista cant seem to connect to windows live messenger, i can use web messengers but would be prefer to get MSN live up and going.

Can anyone help me out?

Do you get an error code?

If you want to set up a proxy, in WLM go to Tools > Options > Connections > Advanced Settings then where it says HTTP put a proxy, as well as a port. Proxy's can be found here. I'm not an expert on them but I think that's what you have to do. Let me know if it works. Good luck.

Error Code 80048820
Extended Error code 80048416

I have put in all the correct proxy details and when i click troubleshoot it says there is a problem with key ports but like i said everyone on XP can use MSN live without any problems
