O.P. Request to add a contact from an existing contact

Hi,

(1) Wondering why a request to add an existing contact popped up on my mobile messenger and again on my laptop today? The contact in question is still there on my list and never went away??

(2) Did they remove and then re-request me and if so how come I've always been able to see them going on and offline?

(3) I just clicked cancel both times (didn't accept or decline) but the request hasn't reappeared on logging on since?
