The user doesn't have McAfee installed, even without Antivirus software a white screen..

But the mcafee just stops the webcam viewing the problem I have is that the webcam is showing a white square.

Any solution for this of other people with the same problem? thank you!

This appears to happen sometimes between contacts on 8.5 and on 2009

When the webcam shows white, ask what version of Messenger your contacts are using.....if it is indeed 8.5 then ask them to upgrade and it should be okay

I believe that the Windows Live team already know about the problem.

In the meantime you have two options: either ask your contacts to upgrade to 2009, or downgrade yourself to 8.5.

Otherwise it'll be hit and miss whether u'll get a connection or not (from my experience)

I had the same problem with a certain contact, and it was intermittent.
They upgraded to ver9 and it was fine.
Signature? What signature!? :O
