Hello, I've just updated my msgpluslive to the latest, and ever since then, when I log into my computer, I get this error that says there is a file is missing... "fiveslowslow.6rlaa"...

I don't know if it's part of msgliveplus cuz it's an unknown file to my computer...

I don't think that file is anything to do with Messenger Plus! Live.

Can you please show us a screenshot of the error message?

Does the message continue to appear if you uninstall Messenger Plus! live?

Did you install Messenger Plus! Live with any sponsor options?

This is it... It's kinda blur

Plus! doesn't run any processes, it integrates itself into Windows Live Messenger.

This means that Plus! couldn't possibly run at startup.

Go to Start > Type msconfig and press enter > Startup tab.

There should be a startup item related to your problem, untick it and click OK.

You'll be able to see which folder the file is coming from. Let us know!

'Msconfig' does not show all the starup entries though.
It actually shows extremely little.
(especially when malware is involved... not saying the above problem comes from malware though, but there is always that chance).

On top of top, if you change something in msconfig, an alternative bootup sequence is created. In other words, the entry is never really removed.
You better use AutoRuns for stuff like that, even for common problems or small changes (because of the not-really-removing issue).

But even if msconfig would show the process involved in this message, it does not necessarily show that filename ("fiveslowslow.6rlaa") and thus you still would not know where it comes from.

On the other hand, you could simply search for the file via Start > Search > Search for files...
But make sure you also tick the advanced options:
- Search also in system maps
- Search hidden files and maps
- Search submaps

If the file is found, it would give you the folder where it is located. And that folder name might give you a big clue as to what program tries to run it.

In my experience, it has usually shown common start-up errors like the one described.

If the start-up entry wasn't there, my next post would have been to use AutoRuns.

OK so I think I finally figured out how to get rid of the error using Windows Defender....
