Urghhhhh my msn is workign perfectly fine but im unable to connect anyway thats not appear offline. I can only be appear offline. as soon as i press on my status to change it to available or buisy or away or woteva i cant. it automatically signs me off!  its reali wierd and i dont understand wai its doing that!!! its so frustrating cause its just happened recently and i dont know wot to do. Please helppppppp ahyoneeeee. its much appreciated thankssss

Oh My God, I have the exactly same problem with you. And this is only happened on one particular machine for one particular ID. On the other machine using this ID or using other ID to sign in on this machine... works perfectly fine. I tried many ways include deleting cookies, updating Windows live Messenger, rebooting machine... didn't work. Please help...

After more than 1 week struggling, I got the solution! Don't try to re-install or whatever, it won't work, even you format your system... It is a MSN Bug!

Try to delete the "Group", everything will work perfectly well. Let me know, if this works... Have fun!

I had the exact same problem. I guess I must have created a group at some point and then left it. It was very strange because i could sign in with other emails accounts no problem.

To fix it I..
Signed in as "appear offline"
Clicked on "options" then "Layout" and enabled "groups"
Then expanded the groups and I left clicked on the one i had there and clicked on "leave group"
Under "leave group" i clicked on "delete group"
I deleted the group and then i signed in and out and it worked!!!!

I'm sorry, I'm facing the problem too,
Deleted a group is work,
but my question is can i keep the group and solve this problem also? Because the group is very important to me to disscuss my assignment work.
I try to leave the group and join the group again and leave the group and re-install it,
but both facing the same problem again,
I hope someone can help me to fix this problem.
