I suggest you take a look at the Help rovided on the SweetIM site. Should you not find what you need, you can also contact them, which I would do if I were you anyway, just to let them know that there is something wrong with their program so they can fix it!

On the subject of Sweet IM, I wanted to mention that Sweet IM doesn't work with Messenger Plus! but since Messenger Plus! 5.11 we have emoticons and winks that you can send in your Windows Live Messenger conversations. (You can also use them in Skype conversations).
