how can i stop plus saving a local chat log but keep it saving online???

In Messenger Plus! for Windows Live Messenger, you can save your chat logs online right now, but there may be changes in this feature in the future.

By enabling your preference in settings:
Preferences & Options > Logs > Chats Logging
- Enable online chat logging
- Enable chat logging on disk


Note that the event log has its own preferences and thus isn't influenced by the settings above; see 'Logs > Event Logging'
