What does "Alert When A Signs In Offline" exactly means???? Does that means it alerts you when someone is hiding??? (appear offline) How, if this is done??

I believe it alerts you when a contact does sign in appearing offline like many patches and apps can do. Don't think it's compatible with the sign in appear offline option in MSN Messenger 7, though

meaning to say detect someone even though she/he appears offline????

No. Only if they automatically quickly go appear offline after signing in...There is a small detectable gap that Messenger discovery can detect in this process; if they just appear offline normally it won't know...

of course MD can see it.

saintgtril, with MessengerDiscovery, you can see when someone signs in on appear offline, and no he doesn't go online at all. you get a notification of status changed to offline, even tough the contact is already offline. that's how you know it

Yup. That's a bit of a bug, though.. Seeing as you weren't online in the first place. It would be much wiser NOT to set your status at all.. But then again, you wouldn't receive anything related to contacts anymore

Agreed: it is a bit of a bug. But then, just because someone knows you signed in offline, doesn't mean you'll get conversations started... server still stops that happening.

messengerdiscovery told em a contact sign in as offline, when really they jsut signed in normally, and not hey didnt ahve a sign in offline patch, they were an average person who wouldnt even know that existed hah

Well messengerdiscovery can detect someone who signs in with the status appear offline.

this is not DETECT who is appearing offline
