O.P. no emoticons
I'm using custom contact names and I've also ticked the option "Attach Orignal Name" in my preferences.

Sadly, the attached original name doesn't display emoticon. I hope Patchou will be able to fix this in the next version.

RE: no emoticons
This isn't a Plus! problem, it is a MSN problem. By default, MSN doesn't display emoticons in your nick.

RE: no emoticons
Lemme verify what has been said. When using the Custom Name feature it is a limitation of Messenger Plus! to be able to show the Emoticons in the name because the names are no longer processed by MSN Messenger because the "View by email" option is turned on. When the option is turned on, Plus! is able to change the display information from the contacts email to their nickname or your custom name for them.
