This allows you to send messages to an offline contact but you can be offline as well when the message is received by the contact. Basically, you add a contact to your msn which you get from http://www.offlinemessenger.com/ and this contact, a bot, saves the message and will deliver it to the desired contact, so you don't have to be online.
