I installed Messenger live and only half my contacts showed up.
I uninstalled it, reinstalled 7.5 and all contacts are back.
I downloaded messenger live from the email microsoft sent me,
so I'm pretty sure its not a dodgy version.
I went into the privacy settings to see if any of them were blocked
and they were not.

I'd like to use messenger live but with out my contacts its pretty hard.

BTW  I read the FAQ and saw the post about missing contacts.

What you could do, is in MSN Messenger 7.5, go to Contacts > Save Instant Messaging Contacts. Save the file somewhere. Then install Windows Live Messenger, go to Contacts > Import Instant Messaging Contacts, select the file you saved before. This file has all your contacts saved to it, so they should all be added. Hopefully that will work, your cotnacts might have to accept an invite if they get one.

You should contact Windows Live Messenger Feedback if you havn't done so already. Tell them your problem.

I don't think this is a Plus! Live problem. Many people are reporting this, even on other forums. I think the problem is on Microsofts end.

And this problem is most likely todo with the new way of how Windows Live Messenger stores the contactlist in your cache and use that cached version (which might not include all your contacts or even none at all if there isn't a cache yet) if it can't connect properly to the servers.

In other words, your contacts are not gone. It is just that there are some problems lately with the Messenger servers and as a result Windows Live Messenger can't fully retrieve your contactlist and thus most likely reverts back to the (partially) cached contactlist....

I had to stop using Msn Live today. Impossible to get all if any contacts visible.
I'm currently using Gaim until Mickey$oft fix their Live servers.

And yes, I have tried deleting my "cached" buddy list on my Windowz computer.

i have lost all my contacts i am usin msn live and i dont no how to solve the problem i have tried to input the contacts manually but still no dice, when i added one like 10 contacts appeared but then that was it signed out signed in and they was gone back to square one
