O.P. OMG! Please help me!
I just sent an old crush an MSN friend request to chat accidentally. F***!!! I do not want him to think I'm intersted in him though I am. :( This has ruined any chance for the future. The only guy I liked. How can I cancel it? I sent it last night late - but am now at work. I deleted him from my contacts but I dont' think that's enough to do anything. I changed my name on my profile space, and I just hope he won't remember my email address.

Is there anything I can do while I'm here at work?

Did you send him a message or did you add him as a friend? If you added him as a friend he likely won't see it as Microsoft changed this and both parties need to add eachother before they can start talking. However if you send him a message on WLM then NanaFreak is right nothing you can do...

Such drama...

Thank you so much for the quick replies. I really appreciate it.

I only accidentally added him as a friend. What do you mean he won't see it? How do people add each other then? The 2nd person has to also add before the connection shows itself - unrelated? That's kind of odd because I get friend requests from strangers all the time. I always click "deny".

PS: I went to my contact list, clicked the box beside his name (I was trying to look at his profile.) and then I got a msg. saying you have sent him a friend request. I did not send him an offline message or anything like that. I then deleted him from my contacts just in case, I wanted to block - just thinking that may take away the friend request, but I couldn't find how to do that.

Is it hopeless?

Microsoft changed the protocol so that both parties need to add eachother. This was done to prevent the number of spam bots adding people. It is only a recent change.

I was wondering because I got an unsolicited request just yesterday. :( If this is in place now and right, then it's awesome for me - but I don't see how because of my own experience.

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Not sure I started noticing it a couple months ago. However it could have been a bug that has since then been rectofied...
