-Search Google for "A-Patch windows live messenger"
(Not sure if allowed to link here to third party software)
-Download the latest version and install
-During Install you'll be asked which options you want, polygamy being one of them.
-Note: It's also capable of removing advertisements and such.

I have been using this patch without a problem, but since I'm not the author of this program, use it at your own risk.

Not recommended at all. Messenger Plus! may not work properly if you do that, and even Messenger itself can run into troubles.

It's not intended to work with Messenger Plus!
If Messenger Plus! works you wouldn't want to do this. :P

Either way, not to discredit CookieRevised's comment, I would say try the A-Patch method only. Will edit the post before.

And what if the user wants to use more features of Plus! than just polygamy?

Yes, you're right. A-Patch works flawlessly with Messenger Plus! and I will edit the previous post(s).

Edit:

Just to say, I'd be disappointed if that would actually stop the new Messenger Plus! v5 from working, unless that version will have the option to hide from taskbar implemented. :P But we'll see about that later... naturally.

Why is it th the Messenger Plus will not work properly? maybe there's something wrong that's why it's not working.

Probably not. In a short while, when it's ready, Messenger Plus! 5 should be released and fix all the problems :) So far it seems like it will be better than ever!

I installed Windows Live Messenger (Essentials) and Msg Plus doesn't work. :(
I don't know what I have to do now. I uninstalled it so often and it's still the same problem.
