I myself had experienced a couple times of unsuccessful installations
but then figured out how to install it properly.

instructions are as followed:

1) First, close WLM 2011 fully
2) Find command prompt
3) Right click on command prompt -> Run as administrator
4) click ok
5) type in the directory of the setup file for MP5
(in my computer for example is D:\setup files\setup-MsgPlus-500.exe)
6) Let it install.
7) Job done.

Hope this works for all those people who had difficulties in installing MP5

If you need admin rights to install it just right click on the installer and tell it to run as administrator...

The more interesting question is, if Plus! needs admin right / elevated privileges... shouldn't it ask for it automatically?

scaroftears: Which version of Windows are you using, and what happened when the installation failed? Did it give any error, or would the installation just finish "successfully" but no Plus! showing up in Messenger?

I am running Windows 7 x64 ultimate~
when the installation failed, there was no plus! in messenger~

also~ i had already closed the windows user account control(UAC)
which should then have given me full privileges...
but turns out that sometimes certain may need "Run as administrator" under command prompt....

I already tried just by right clicking on the setup file and running as admin... didn't work...
Only worked when i was running command prompt under admin...
