Another good hosting site is www.illfuckinghostit.com this guy gives you 50 mb webspace, no ads.  All you need is a reason, doesn't even need to be a good one.  I can't remember what you can use, but you can find it out for your self can't you?

a good 1 i used to use was www.domaindlx.com

unlimited bandwith, 100mb space, webupload, no adds or pop ups. very easy to sign up to.
doesnt suport php or mySQL though.. but its worth a try.

I highly Suggest Geocites it's very Useful as It has HTML spots Too put which Many Websites Do not Have

yea dont use geocities wysiwyg editors they may look cool and have tons of crappy feature to annoy people but it isnt real html. if you wanna use wysiwyg use something like dreamweaver
