I have noticed that on some websites, they have a disclaimer. I'm not sure of the entire purpose of it, could anyone tell me in detail please? Thank you.

It all depends on which country you're in. Disclaimers arent valid in the UK for example. They are american invention. You may see some UK sites have them, but that is because their host or origin could be from another country. You'll have to research what you write is legitiment before publishing it.

Origin? You mean they could've been born there?

Origin of the company that own the site or the site itself.

You really need to speak to someone who knows the law inside out on this stuff. Copying or making up a disclaimer means nothing at the end of the day.

True.. but my host is based in the UK, but it's servers in USA. Does that make me able to have a Disclaimer?

the main question to ask is: DO you really need one?

My website is blog, and is not up until 18th March, but I think it will be a good idea for security and copyright reasons. So, yes - I would like one
